Every body is a Dr

I met someone yesterday, that was convinced that everyone around them has a candida over growth.  While I do agree this is more than likely a widespread issue that a lot of people have.  In my opinion it is not a catch all for every disease, and once eradicated, it still begs the question of what allowed it to be overgrown in the first place.

This made me think.  As an American if I have a headache I would take a aspirin.  If I had heart burn I would take tums.  If diarrhea was a problem, I would use beptopismol.  Seems like there are a lot of medicines for any symptom.  It also seems like a lot of these drugs are over the counter drugs and are allowed to buy them as needed.  There fore we as individuals, step into the role of being a Doctor.  While eventually we do take ourselves to a Doctor.  It is almost unheard of to hear someone exclaim, its my health.  Instead a lot  of time, you hear, they better make me better.  Or they better figure out what is wrong.  Even though if it could be figured out with over the counter medicines we would not see a Dr.  Theres a part of me that part of this attraction is taking responsibility for yourself.    No one wants to be made to feel like a liability.

The person that I had met, was no exception.  He was literally mad at the food industry and the medical association.  He felt he had been lead wrongly by these industries and by anyone he had come in contact with from the medical field.  I have to say, I agree, but I also understand how it came to be and I don't think the magic pill of candida is going to save the day.  I'm not a fool and if he is right, I am going to go through Candida elimination.  After all it is only a couple of months and my health is years.

It's made me come to the table with renewed energy.  I know many people who treat themselves poorly right now.  When I say that, I mean with taking antibiotics, eating high sugar containing food, do not get proper rest, live with a large amounts of stress and etc.  The question I have is "if everyone is an expert on themselves  then why are so many people missing the mark?"  I hear from people who you know are out of shape, and yet they'll tell you that there health isn't that bad.  People, if you waist measurement is larger than your hip measurement then that is not healthy.

I don't know where the confusion has come from.  I do know we are heavily commercialized.  I know it is natural to want to be a hero, especially your own.  I just for the life of me can't figure out when we stopped listening to truth and started to make up our own.
